Moving a presentation to another computer

Postby joelh » Tue Feb 09, 2010 9:03 am

How do I move a presentation and all the media and speechfiles to another computer and have the clips recognized? We have a team of people who might be using and editing a powerpoint deck, with SpeechOver, and we need to share them.

If you have checked the "Use relative path for sound files" preference in SpeechOver/General, and the sound files have been produced using that setting, you can transfer the ppt together with the two subfolders _speechfiles and _mediafiles and it should work.

The other way is to transfer the ppt together with the _speechfile subfolder only and do a Refresh All Slides. That should regenerate all the media files in their subfolder. That is the best if you are using the absolute path option (relative path preference unchecked). In general, the absolute path option is the better one to develop with because of some PPT issues.
